Internationally acclaimed for his artistry, versatility, and commitment to humanitarian causes, violinist Daniel Hope is the newly appointed Artistic Advisor for
Chamber Music at The Barns. Hope will curate the series with his bold artistic leadership and vision, selecting programs and artists that will enrich the future of chamber music offerings at Wolf Trap.
A celebrated soloist, collaborator, and recording artist, Hope has performed with leading orchestras, conductors, and composers around the world. His discography has earned honors including the German Record Critics’ Prize and the Edison Classical Award. He currently serves as Music Director of both the Zurich Chamber Orchestra and San Francisco’s New Century Chamber Orchestra, Artistic Director of the Frauenkirche Dresden, and President of the Beethoven-Haus in Bonn. A protégé of Yehudi Menuhin, Hope is a passionate mentor and arts advocate. Beyond the stage, he created the award-winning
Hope@Home livestream series during the 2020 lockdown and led benefit concerts with Ukrainian pianist Alexey Botvinov to support humanitarian relief.

Since its inaugural performances by The Wolf Trap Chamber Group and The Columbine and Primavera String Quartets in 1981, The Barns at Wolf Trap has been a cherished venue for chamber music enthusiasts. The restored 18
th-century barns offer exceptional acoustics suited perfectly for classical music. In 2014, the series was aptly renamed
Chamber Music at The Barns, continuing its tradition of hosting acclaimed artists such as Wu Han, Anne Sofie von Otter, and Pinchas Zukerman, and highly respected ensembles, including the Orion, Attacca, and Emerson String Quartets.
