Spirit of South Florida
Filming began amidst tropical fish and alligators, in swamps and canoes. To create David Parsons’ vision for Spirit of South Florida, Parsons Dance and Tiempo Libre went on location to Biscayne National Park, Big Cypress National Preserve, Dry Tortugas National Park, and Everglades National Park—making the landscape part of their art. The masterpiece of music, video, and movement put the spotlight on the region’s parks and wildlife, and included music from groups in South Florida.
