House Rules
Filene Center
- All patrons of performances and festivals, regardless of age, must have a ticket.
- Patrons must sit in the seats for which they have tickets.
- Resale of tickets is strictly prohibited by federal regulations and by Wolf Trap Foundation policy.
- Eating is not permitted in the covered seating area and visitors with in-house seating may not take food to their seats. Visitors can purchase food at Concessions but must enjoy it on the Plaza, lawn, or picnic tables located in the Park.
- Patrons may bring water into the covered seating area. Other beverages (wine, beer, mixed and soft drinks) may only be brought into the covered seating area in official Wolf Trap Cups, with the lid in place. Wolf Trap Cups are reusable and spill-safe, and may be purchased at the Gift Shop and Concessions.
- The Filene Center is a smoke and tobacco-free facility. Smoking, e-cigarettes, and the use of other tobacco products are only permitted outside the venue, more than 25 feet away from the gates.
- The use of recording equipment and cameras (with or without flash) during performances is prohibited unless authorized by the artists. Please consult an usher for photography restrictions in effect for the performance.
- Shirts and shoes are required and must be worn at all times.
- Late arrivals are normally seated between movements, acts, or songs at the request of the artist(s).
- With the exception of service animals, pets are not permitted.
- Patrons may not block aisles, stairways, or sightlines at any time during performances.
- Disturbing fellow patrons with loud conversation or otherwise inappropriate behavior is not permitted and may result in removal from the event without a refund.
- Lawn chairs are permitted ONLY behind the signs posted on the lawn seating area.
- Open fires, candles, and cooking devices are not permitted.
- Bags, backpacks, packages, coolers, and other containers will be inspected and are subject to size limitations. For more information, visit www.nps.gov/wotr/planyourvisit/inspections.
- Firearms are prohibited by federal law.
- All cell phones, pagers, and similar electronic devices must be silenced during the performance.
- Violation of House Rules or Park regulations may result in prosecution and/or removal from the event without a refund.
The Barns at Wolf Trap
- All patrons, regardless of age, must have a ticket.
- Patrons must sit in the seats for which they have tickets.
- Outside food or beverages may not be consumed inside the facility.
- Beverages are permitted inside the theater. Food is not permitted inside the theater.
- The Barns is a smoke-free facility. Smoking, including e-cigarettes, is permitted only in the designated area outside the main entrance.
- The use of recording equipment and cameras (with or without flash) during performances is prohibited unless coordinated through management and authorized by the artist(s).
- Late arrivals are normally seated between movements, acts, or numbers at the discretion of management and at the request of the artist(s).
- With the exception of service animals assisting disabled persons, pets are not permitted.
- Patrons may not stand in or block aisles or sightlines at any time during performances.
- Disturbing fellow patrons with loud conversation or inappropriate behavior is not permitted and may result in removal from the performance without a refund.
- All cell phones and electronic devices must be silenced during the performance.
- Firearms are prohibited.
- Resale of tickets on Wolf Trap Foundation property is strictly prohibited.
- Violation of The Barns at Wolf Trap House Rules may result in removal from the performance without refund and/or prosecution.
Children’s Theatre-in-the-Woods
- All patrons of performances must have a ticket. Children under the age of 2 are free, but still require a ticket.
- All seating at Children’s Theatre-in-the-Woods is general admission and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Resale of tickets is strictly prohibited by federal regulations and by Wolf Trap Foundation policy.
- Children’s Theatre-in-the-Woods is uncovered and outdoors. Performances are subject to cancellation due to inclement weather. Decisions to cancel are made no later than one hour prior to show time, and updates can be found at wolftrap.org or on Wolf Trap’s Instagram and Facebook accounts. In the event of a cancellation, you will receive an email with refund information.
- Eating is not permitted in the seated area. Please consume all food in the Meadow. There are no food or beverages for sale on-site.
- Patrons may drink water in the seating area. All other beverages should be consumed outside of the seating area. A water jug is available at the theater to refill personal water bottles.
- Strollers are encouraged to bring babies and young children from the parking lot to the venue and should be parked outside of the entrance in the designated area.
- Swimming in the creek is prohibited. Children should be accompanied by guardians near the creek at all times.
