POSITION LOCATION: Hybrid – will require days onsite and allow telework
Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts is seeking a Manager, Social Media who will be responsible for developing, managing, curating, and maintaining the content, effectiveness, and community engagement of Wolf Trap Foundation’s social media platforms. This includes oversight of corresponding platforms for Education and Opera and Classical programming. Responsibilities include strategic planning, creating and curating content that is meaningful, builds community, and promotes interest in Wolf Trap’s performances, programs, and events through organic and paid social media. Works collaboratively across the Foundation to develop strategies that accomplish organizational objectives of amplifying platform follower growth and increased engagement, generating revenue and overall awareness of the Foundation’s mission and brand via online and digital spaces.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Management of Social Media:
- Responsible for the management and curation of Wolf Trap Foundation’s primary social media platforms: Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Threads, LinkedIn, YouTube, and X/Twitter.
- In conjunction with the Assistant Director, Education Communications and Strategy, develop and maintain oversight of education social media channels and amplify education content across appropriate platforms.
- In conjunction with assigned Wolf Trap Opera staff, develop and oversee Opera and Classical Programming social media, including copy, media, and paid content.
- In collaboration with Assistant Director, Digital Communications, establish strategic direction and content of the social media content annually on behalf of the Foundation.
- Build relationships and cultivate an ever-growing, engaged online community of Wolf Trap followers and supporters, including patrons, artists, online fan-bases, and influencers/content creators. .
- Ensure that social media content is updated as determined by performance and program schedules, policy and guideline changes, platform upgrades, functionality/targeting updates, etc.
- In coordination with Marketing, develop and curate paid social media content. Collaborate with Creative Director and Coordinator, Multimedia Content to ensure timely delivery of videos, static and animated graphics, etc.
- Stay abreast of best practices related to social media and communication trends and work with the social media team to implement new strategies, tactics, and approaches. Advise management on development and trends of social channels, recommending technology updates and new platforms when appropriate.
- Coordinate with various departments as necessary to ensure alignment of social media platforms and campaigns with overall marketing and communications strategies and message consistency.
- Manage organic and paid social media efforts with internal stakeholders, external Digital Media consulting firm, artist management, business partners, and influencers; implement plans as appropriate.
Collaboration/Integration:- Support other departments with the development of content for social media.
- Oversee the creation of social-first visuals and ensure that the design and look/feel of channels are up-to-date and reflect the Wolf Trap brand.
- Provide social media toolkits and guidance for staff, board members, and artist management on ways to amplify Wolf Trap’s social media channels.
- In collaboration with Manager, Media Relations manage staff training and scheduling for press office and oversee social media duties during performances. Update press office manual for most recent social media policies and procedures.
- In collaboration with the Manager, Media Relations, manage influencer relationships, staffing, and scheduling at performances and special events.
- Plan and manage promotional assets, shot lists, copy, and team schedules for coverage of special events, performances, and seasonal activities.
Monitoring and Analysis:- Measure, analyze, and report on paid and organic social media impact.
- Monitor Wolf Trap channels for patron trends and conversations. Refer patron concerns to relevant staff.
- Develop and execute plan for analyzing and reporting on social media platform data and analytics, disseminating critical metrics, and tailoring future efforts based on their interpretation.
- Identify, report, and advise management on key metrics, as well as notable conversations and trends among patrons. Compile regular reports for management.
- Proactively assess and report on social media complaints, comments, and behaviors that can negatively impact Wolf Trap’s reputation
Technical Support:- Work directly with Information Technology staff and vendors to provide technical support as necessary across the Foundation, pertaining to social media and other digital platforms.
- Support the Foundation’s strategic goals related to the use of technology to increase staff and public awareness and revenue.
Other:- Share management of seasonal interns with Coordinator, Social Media and Coordinator, Multimedia Content.
- Staff Filene Center Press Office during 8-9 performance evenings from May to September.
- Serve as on-site social media person, curating day of Stories and content, for select special events and performances.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- BA in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Arts Management or related field preferred.
- 5-7 years proven experience in developing and maintaining complex and integrated digital media platforms.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of the principles and best practices of social media management.
- Demonstrated success in conceiving and deploying written and visual content to further organizational goals.
- Basic skills in visual communications, including the ability to create and manipulate basic graphic, photo, and video content for use in social media. Basic knowledge of Adobe Suite and Final Cut is required.
- Knowledgeable in operating social media on smart phones and mobile devices.
- Outstanding organization skills, as well as the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to write effectively across a variety of styles.
- Strong relationship-building skills. Ability to contribute to a cross-functional team, and to execute social communications in a collaborative manner.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, exercise independent discretion and initiative, and combine an attention to detail with broader strategic vision.
- Ability to work nights and weekends in support of select performances and events.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time
- Regularly operates a computer and other office equipment (i.e. calculator, copier, printer, etc.)

POSITION REPORTS TO: Senior Director, Human Resources

Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts is seeking a Human Resources Generalist who will serve on a three-person HR team, supporting approximately 120 full-time and 500 seasonal/variable employees. Manage the day-to-day operations of the Foundation’s recruiting and training initiatives, ensuring a positive candidate and employee experience. Determine and coordinate annual and annual ad hoc training opportunities. Perform general HR responsibilities, taking the initiative to advance various HR processes, programs and projects. Act as back-up to the Human Resources Generalist (Benefits and Employee Relations) to ensure continuity of workflow and to provide support during peak periods.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Recruiting/Staffing- Research, develop, implement and measure effective recruiting and talent acquisition strategies, in consultation with the Senior Director, to attract a diverse pool of qualified and capable talent for the Foundation
- Collaborate with hiring managers to understand position requirements/ideal candidate profiles and create accurate position descriptions; maintain updated position descriptions
- Draft and post openings to Foundation website using Paycom ATS and select additional sites
- Source candidates using various methods including networking, social media, new job posting sites, etc.
- Identify, screen and present qualified applicants to hiring managers for full-time positions; track candidates; coach and guide hiring managers through the hiring process
- Conduct reference checks and present offers for full-time positions
Prepare offer letters and related correspondence; initiate onboarding and background checks for full-time employees - Manage the offer letters, onboarding and background checks for approximately 300 seasonal/variable employees (non-union)
- Provide hiring managers and the Senior Director, HR timely and accurate recruiting reports
- Coordinate and maintain ATS, conduct user training for hiring managers, maintain Recruiting Guide and other materials, review and update policies and procedures
- Communicate with applicants in a timely manner and advise candidates on the interview and hiring process, ensuring a positive and effective candidate experience
- Organize and attend seasonal job fairs and other networking opportunities
- Ensure compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations and maintain knowledge of trends and best practices
- Manage business and KPI processes for new positions
Training and Development
- Identify, develop and coordinate or lead training sessions (i.e., LinkedIn Learning, Sexual Harassment Prevention and additional ad hoc annual trainings); select and evaluate instructors
- Recommend training programs to employees and managers to maintain or improve job skills; respond to questions and requests
- Evaluate program effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and feedback
- Maintain knowledge of the latest trends in training and development
Budget - Prepare the recruiting and training budgets; maintain records and submit expenses
- Assist the HR Generalist (Benefits and Employee Relations) and Senior Director with annual budget planning, projections, and reforecasts
- Process expense reimbursements, invoices, and check requests
Other Essential Responsibilities
- Help facilitate the annual merit cycle process, including market data updates, and annual performance management process
- Collaborate and cross-train with and serve as back-up to Human Resources Generalist (Benefits/Employee Relations)
- Assist with researching, reviewing, developing, and administering HR policies and programs.
- Critically review and analyze current policies and procedures to recommend and implement changes leading to best-practice operations.
- Serve as project manager for various HR programs and initiatives.
- Update and maintain organizational chart; complete annual EEO-1 reporting and prepare HR analytics; conduct exit interviews
- Serve on the Foundation’s Culture and Belonging Committee; actively participate in developing and implementing initiatives and strategies to attract, recruit, and maintain an inclusive workplace
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Psychology or related field, or equivalent, transferrable work experience
- 5+ years of relevant and progressive Human Resources experience with a focus on full life cycle recruiting and HR generalist responsibilities; training experience a plus
- PHR, SHRM-CP, or other HR certifications strongly preferred
- Non-profit, performing arts experience preferred
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:- Direct experience screening and interviewing candidates
- Proven knowledge of sourcing techniques including internet and social media sites
- Demonstrated ability to quickly build positive relationships with candidates and deliver a positive applicant experience through proactive, authentic communication and efficient process management
- Thorough knowledge of employment laws and best practices, with special emphasis on full life cycle recruiting and the ability to stay up to date on changing laws and regulations
- Creative, innovative, proactive, motivated and results and customer service-oriented
- Willingness to take ownership of and prioritize a wide range of responsibilities, with changing priorities and a drive for continual improvement
- Critical thinker, able to identify issues and opportunities, provide solutions, and reach consensus with multiple stakeholders

- Solid technology skills including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point); experience with Paycom ATS is a plus or the ability to learn the system quickly
