If you love Wolf Trap, spend time behind the scenes helping deliver arts and education opportunities for hundreds of thousands of people each year by volunteering.

Become a Wolf Trap Foundation member, select an area of interest, and volunteer your time and talents, while enjoying a variety of perks.

If you’d like to usher, be a nature guide, or help with patron services, the National Park Service offers a separate volunteer program.

Wolf Trap Foundation Volunteer Opportunities

Gift Shop
In the summer, work in the Filene Center gift shop during performances. Assist patrons with purchasing merchandise, as well as renting binoculars and seat cushions for the lawn.

Concessions at the Filene Center
Assist Wolf Trap patrons at the Filene Center with food and beverage operations. Filene Center Concessions volunteers help support staff in the two main concession stands on select performance nights.

Hospitality
Collaborate with Wolf Trap’s Special Events team in the summer to assist with hosting Dinner and a Show events (formerly called Dinners on the Deck) by helping set up, serve guests, and break down these events.

Ushering at The Barns
In the fall, assist Wolf Trap patrons by guiding them to their ticketed seats, handing out program books, and performing general front of house tasks during performances.

Office
Assist Wolf Trap Foundation staff with mailings, filing, and miscellaneous office tasks throughout the year. Office tasks performed by our volunteers are essential to Wolf Trap Foundation's operations and our staff enjoys getting to know our volunteers during the day!

Promotional Events
Assist our public outreach team at various local and promotional events, by enthusiastically engaging with guests, distributing collateral and representing Wolf Trap as an ambassador in the community.

Opera
Assist Wolf Trap Opera with events throughout the summer. Volunteers are responsible for event registration and pre-event setup.

Requirements

• 18 years or older
• Current Wolf Trap member
• Commit to a certain number of shifts per summer (gift shop and hospitality only)
• Willing to work under the supervision of Wolf Trap Foundation staff
